Margaret Claudine Lawson

Margaret Claudine Coker (more familiarly known as Red or Maw) Lawson left this earth after 98½ years on Saturday January 20, 2018.  She was preceded in death by her husband George and by her parents Jess and Ida Coker.  She is survived by children: Judy and Cephas Geren, Jerrie and Gregg Best, and John and Kim Lawson.  Greatly-loved  and loving grandchildren include Shane (Jennifer) Geren,   Aimee Geren, Garth (Sharon) Best, Meg Best, Jeremy (Sally) Lawson, and Erick (Jenny) Lawson.  And even more loved great-grandchildren are Lily and Piper Lawson and Grant and Beau Best.  “Red” worked for over 20 years for the M.C.Headrick grocery stores and attended New Friendship Baptist Church for more than 70 years.  “Maw” loved babies, traveling, and baking—just ask the great-grands about her chocolate chip cookies.
