It’s that time of year again — the beginning of the holiday season. And it begins with Thanksgiving Day. Most look at the day with anticipation of parades, games and big dinners. That’s OK as long as you remember also it is a day to pause and “give thanks.” It’s not merely “Turkey Day.”
During his tenure as a professor at Lee University, George touched the lives of many people. One of his former students, Phil Hoover is now living in Chicago, and keeps in touch with fellow Lee alumni and friends, including the social network, Facebook. He began connecting with friends on Facebook and a miracle happened.
More than 300 people came out on Nov. 14, for the free Clothes Give Away at Cornerstone Church of God through the Alabaster Box Ministries, an outreach of the church.
Larry Orrell will be the speaker Saturday and Sunday at Grace Assembly of God.
Orrell has been a success in gospel music for more than 30 years. His father was one of the great promoters of gospel music in the late 1950s and 1960s.
