Michigan Avenue Elementary fifth grade students in Mr. Heller’s class were very patriotic Wednesday when they honored Veteran’s Day by wearing red, white and blue and writing letters to U.S. troops overseas. Students at the school write to troops throughout the year, with an increase in letters during Sept. 11, Veteran’s Day and other patriotic remembrance days.
