Gladys L. Rymer, 100, died Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at Little Creek Sanitarium in Knoxville after an extended illness.
She lived in Cleveland and was an active and dedicated member of the First Baptist Church.
She was employed at Miller's Department Store for several years. She opened and managed the Sears order office in Cleveland until she retired.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Filetus Dodson and Louella McCleary Rymer; brother, Filetus Alexander Rymer and wife, Mabel Rhea; sister, Mary L. Rymer; and niece, Jan Rymer Henn.
Survivors include her brother, Forest W. "Bill" Rymer and wife, Jean, of Rogersville; nieces: Kathryn Rymer, of Atlantic Beach, Fla., Ann Rymer, of Taos, N.M., and Betsy Rymer Thomas and husband, Reed, of Knoxville; nephews: Robert A. Rymer and wife, Cathy, of Mount Pleasant, S.C., William F. Rymer and wife, Terri, of Greeneville and John F. Rymer and wife, Jeannie, of Knoxville; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family and friends will gather Saturday, June 13, 2009, at 2:45 p.m. at Fort Hill Cemetery for a 3 p.m. graveside service with the Rev. Tom Moncrief officiating.
