Inmate labor is utilized in the following areas: • Grounds: maintaining the cleanliness of the sheriff’s office inside and outside of the facility. • Garage: ensuring that our patrol vehicles are running smoothly. • Kitchen: feeding all inmates three meals per day and maintaining the up keep of the kitchen. • Laundry: washing all uniforms, towels, blankets and sheets for inmates. • Litter: picking up trash along the roads in an attempt to keep Bradley County beautiful. • Mowing: mowing designated sections of Fort Hill Cemetery. • Schools: providing limited help to Bradley County School when students are NOT present; usually during spring, summer and fall breaks. These purposeful, character building tasks have proven to help build trust between the inmates and corrections officers, and provide opportunities for inmates to acquire credit towards early release for their work. more
