Carol June Mason Rapier age 74 a resident of Cleveland passed away Wednesday December 5, 2018 in a Chattanooga health care facility. She was the daughter of the late Walter W. Mason and Martha Logan Mason Douglas. She was also preceded in death by her step-father Ransom “Doc” Douglas her brother Billy Joe Mason and her husband James “Sonny” Rapier. Carol retired from Hardwick Clothes with over 25 years of service. She was a huge Elvis fan and loved to eat at Shoney’s breakfast bar, however the love of her life and the thing that brought her the most joy is her family especially her grandkids. more

Gelene Burgner, 78 of Charleston, passed away on Wednesday morning, Dec. 5, 2018, at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga. Born on Aug. 27, 1940, to the late James Chester and Lula Mae Kibble Stephens, she was a native and lifelong resident of Bradley County and of the Methodist faith. Ronald L. “Bud” Cansler, 77, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018, in a local hospital. He had owned Bud’s Auto Service and worked at Lincoln Mullinax. He was of the Christian faith. He loved classic cars, auto racing, and golfing, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family. more
Joseph (Joe) Paul Hamilton, Jr. passed away on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018, in Cleveland. A lifelong Cleveland resident, he was a driving force in the creation of the Museum Center at 5ive Points and helped bring the community together to raise $4.5 million to build the facility. He served as executive director from 1994 to 2006. The museum earned 10 awards of commendation or excellence from the Tennessee Association of Museums in its first seven years of operation. more
