Mattie Ann Swafford age 65, a resident of Cleveland, Tn., went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday morning March 4, 2018 at a local hospital. She was born May 16, 1952 to Charles and Cornelius “Lindie” Swafford II, both whom preceded her in death along with her sisters, Odessa Rouser, Karen Ware and her brother, Lebron Swafford. Mattie was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was retired after 35 years from Whirlpool.  more

Frances Edith Hitson, 85, a resident of Cleveland. passed away on Saturday March 10, 2018, at the family residence. She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Annie Hubbard and was also preceded in death by her husband Marvin “Mug” Hitson. Mrs. Hitson retired from Lee University where she worked in the cafeteria with over 28 years of service. She was a member of United Missionary Baptist Church. more

Dorothy Lea Hatcher, 91, a resident of Benton, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 in a local hospital. She was born in Sevier County in the Wears Valley community on July 13, 1926 to the late Frank Cooper and Una McFall Cooper. She and her late husband, McKinley Hatcher, earned their livelihood by farming, initially in Sevier County and later in Polk County; they owned and operated Riverside Dairy Farm in Benton. She was a long-term member of Benton Station Baptist Church and enjoyed the many visits from the WMU women of this church. She had many special friends at Beech Springs Baptist Church and enjoyed the many ways in which they provided love and kindness. more
