With the long-anticipated arrival of spring, MainStreet Cleveland has announced the return of the “Brown Bag Lunch” concert series at First Street Square.

This year’s tribute to live, outdoor music kicks off Thursday at noon featuring the Walker Valley High School Jazz Band under the direction of Alan Hunt. The hour-long concert will be held at the popular downtown square located at the corner of Parker and 1st streets.

“This talented group of students is sure to entertain,” according to Sharon Marr, executive director of MainStreet Cleveland.

Each week, the concert series will feature an array of live talent during the noon hour.

On April 12, Cleveland’s Community Quartet section of the Community Stage Band will perform. BCHS Rock Band 2012 “The Buttery Spud” takes the stage on April 19 with a stage show. To round out the concert series on April 26 is the popular group “Vocal Rhapsody” from Cleveland State Community College

“We are excited to offer this great lineup of entertainment and encourage folks to come out and enjoy the great music and beautiful spring weather,” Marr said.

The MainStreet Cruisers kick off the 11th season of the MainStreet Cruise-In on April 28 from 3 to 9 p.m. around the Courthouse Square.

Relay for Life benefiting the American Cancer Society is May 4-5 at the Courthouse Square. The 18th season of Evening Shade Concerts in the Park is set for each Friday in May at Johnston Park, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

This popular event is sponsored by the Allied Arts Council of the Cleveland/Bradley Chamber of Commerce.
