Local garden clubs which will participate are Aldersgate, Creswood, Dayton, Hickory Valley, Lookout Mountain Beautiful, Magnolia, Ocoee and Sunset. Hyderhangout Quilt Shop and the Stashbusters Quilt Guild will furnish quilts for the show.
Three divisions — horticulture, design and special exhibits — will be featured.
In Division I, “Quilted Memories,” more than 300 exhibits are expected and the show is offering 10 top awards. Ranging from annuals, perennials, bulbs, shrubs, trees, vines, roses and container-grown plants, there are 67 classes.
In Division II, “Stained Glass Magic,” 10 design classes will be offered with a total of 43 exhibits. Four of the classes are miniature and four Top Design awards are offered.
Division III, “Down the Garden Path,” will include five sections: Educational, Artistic Crafts, Youth and Plant Sale.
Section A, educational, will have four exhibits and will offer the Educational Top Award.
Section A-b, Artistic Crafts, has three classes with a total of 16 exhibits. A Top Artistic Award is offered.
Youth will consist of two sections — Horticulture with nine Top Youth Awards offered for either cut or container-grown; and Youth Design with three classes divided into age groups for a total of 12 exhibits.
The plant sale is the district’s way of raising the money to be able to have the flower show. Everyone is invited to stop by and check it out. The Award of Appreciation will be given.
Note: “Patterns in Time” is a quilt-theme standard flower show. Divisions, section and class names are actual names of quilts dating back to the early 1800s.
