The class will be conducted at the UT Extension-Bradley County Building, 95 Church St. S.E., Cleveland TN 37311.
Cost of the class is $20 which includes reference books and materials. Additional classes will be conducted in Chattanooga.
The class is for both beginners and experienced preservers. Topics covered will include water bath and pressure canning, freezing and drying foods.
Participants will be able to locate safe, reliable resources and learn why low-acid and high-acid foods must be processed differently. Each will receive a packet of useful recipes and resources to use year-round and learn why grandmother’s jam may not be safe. There will be food samples.
