‘Reinging’ ’Dogs and Cats: Waterdogs, Aqua Tigers hold court for pair of home wins

Forget the fast-moving summer storm that blew through Cleveland Thursday evening, the real thunderous performance came from the Cleveland Aqua Tigers and the Mosby Park Waterdogs and their respective wins.

A slight weather delay wasn’t enough to slow either team down, as the Aqua Tigers defeated the Red Bank Gators by a score of 458-297 and the Waterdogs defeated the Calhoun Swim Team 437.5 to 251.5.

It was a total team effort at Tinsley Park Thursday evening, with numerous Aqua Tigers high-point scorers.

Alexia Jackson and David Parris both finished the meet with 19 points.

Lauren Thompson, Grayson Payne, Max Cooper, Abigail Jones and Ben Cooper all added 17 points to the overall team score.

Jacob McDaniel and Grayson Officer both had 15 points in the meet.

Fourteen points came from Tucker Biggs, Blake Odum, Adam Foster and Meredith Borst, while Gracelyn Jackson, Tiffany Harricharran and Jason Chung each had 13 points.

Kylee Weir and Nelson Chung finished with 12 points a piece.

Jasper Culpepper and Lauren Borst finished out the high-point scoring for the Aqua Tigers with 11 points each.

With Thursday evening’s win over Red Bank, the Aqua Tigers have extended their record to 3-0.

The Aqua Tigers will take on the also undefeated Ringgold TigerSharks next Monday at 6 p.m., at Tinsley Park.

Over at Mosby Park, the Waterdogs commanded a dominating victory over the Calhoun Swim Team.

Davina Sharma finished the evening with 19 points, while Caiden Cross, Anna Garner, and Christian Torbett each added 17 points to the team’s overall score.

Julie Bryant and Haley Brock both had 15 points and Brody Swafford finished with 14.5 points.

Camren Davis, Brian Lineberry and Bristol Snider each contributed 14 points, while Knox Watson, Luke Hunt, Tanya Shamra and Ridge Asble finished the meet with 13 points each.

Twelve points came from both Morgan Bundy and Eligio Urani, while Anna Harvey had 11 points.

Brendan Ruckman and Mark Moshenskiy finished out the Waterdogs high point scoring with 10 points a piece.

The Waterdogs now have a record of 2-2 and will be back in action next Thursday as they travel to Red Bank to take on the Gators once again.
