Since he was a Tiger Cub at 6 years old, Logan Taylor has wanted to become an Eagle Scout. On Saturday, May 5, he’ll get that wish.

Taylor, 17, of Boy Scout Troop 313, will be honored at a special Eagle Scout ceremony at 2 p.m. at Shenandoah Baptist Academy. To earn Scouting’s highest award, Taylor had to earn 21 merit badges, serve as a leader in his troop, and complete a major community service project.

Taylor’s service project took place at Shenandoah Baptist Academy. Leading 15 to 20 Scouts, youth, and adults, Logan refurbished the school’s playground and added an in-ground basketball goal. Taylor has been a member of Troop 313 for 11 years. The troop is now chartered to Shenandoah Baptist Church. He has served the troop as patrol leader, quartermaster, librarian and senior patrol leader. He has also worked in maintenance at Shenandoah Baptist Church for the past six months.

Taylor is a senior at Shenandoah Baptist Academy. He plans to enter the engineering program at Pensacola Christian College in Florida next fall.
