Jaden Alexander, 3, was the 1,000th person to sign up for the Summer Reading Program at the Cleveland Bradley County Public Library. Jaden is the son of Michelle and Kelvin Alexander of Cleveland. “We are thrilled to have over a thousand young readers and listeners enrolled in our Summer Reading Program already,” said Chris Gavin, children’s librarian. “We hope that a thousand more youngsters will come by the library to sign up. We want every child in Cleveland reading or listening to books this summer.” The purpose of the library summer reading program, “Make a Splash: Read!” is to encourage children and their families to read throughout the summer. Additional programs and activities are offered in the Children’s Room at the library. Contact the library for more information. The Summer Reading Programs run until July 31 and children may sign up anytime. Our “Grand Finale” party for those who complete their reading will be held on July 30, from 4 to 6 p.m.
