Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Norma Jean Coalter of Cleveland; his children: Tim Coalter and his wife, Kelly, and Shirlene Coalter Stone and her husband, Duke; he was “Papaw” to six grandchildren: Amber Coalter Williams and her husband, Jason, Robyn Coalter Vernon and her husband, Chris, Corey Coalter and his wife, Vanessa, Michael Stone and his wife, Ceren, Krystal Stone Bankston and her husband, Paul, and Stephen Stone and his wife, Brittany; his 12 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Kenneth Coalter.

His ministry in the Church of God of Prophecy spanned 64 years. During that time, he served as evangelist, pastor, regional overseer, Bible Training Institute administrator at the International Office and state overseer of North Carolina, Tennessee, Florida and Kentucky.

He was a faithful example of a happy Christian. One of his favorite hymns was “When the Roll is called up Yonder I’ll Be There.” Today, he can answer, “Present!”
