Alice Kennedy Daley was born April 30, 1919, in Oscoda County, Mich., to Nettie and Norman Kennedy. She passed away Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at her daughter’s home in Cleveland.

She married Collie Daley on June 6, 1942, in Rolla, Mo.

She leaves her husband and two sons: William (Bonnie Pylman) and David (Wendy Minor); daughter, Tamea Daley; four grandchildren: Chantel (Steve) Blamer, Allyson Moore, Donovan and Devan Daley; four great-grandchildren: Kaylea, Tayler, Scott and Wyatt Blamer; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, students and friends.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tonya Daley in 1980.

She taught school for more than 50 years. She loved many of the students as if they were her own children. She built relationships with her students that spanned six decades, many of whom have contacted her in the last few months. Some students she taught in 1945 still talked to her frequently.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at the Ladd Springs Seventh-day Adventist Church, 5860 Bates Pike, Cleveland, TN.

The memorial service with Pastor Peter Read officiating will follow at 4 p.m.

She will be laid to rest in Ringgold Memorial Gardens in Georgia next to her daughter, Tonya.

Fike Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
