Bob Gault of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office said Keith Lee Johns, 31, and Jennifer Cathleen Terry, 24, allegedly pulled their vehicle into a field on an Old Charleston Road property.
The owner reportedly asked the couple to leave.
Bradley County deputies arrived and found components of an alleged mobile methamphetamine lab inside the car.
A vehicle search revealed a coffee filter, substances known to be used in the production of meth and several grams of suspected methamphetamine.
The “Shake and Bake” method was described as what the suspects were possibly utilizing to manufacture the alleged methamphetamine. Components were reportedly found in one container and described as the “One-Pot Method” of manufacture.
Johns and Terry were arrested and charged with a variety of charges. Both were charged with promotion, manufacture and possession of methamphetamine.
Terry was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, simple possession of marijuana and criminal trespassing. Johns was also charged with criminal trespassing, simple possession and a charge of criminal littering, according to reports.
Bradley County Drug Enforcement Unit, the Southeast Tennessee Methamphetamine Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration HazMat Response truck also responded to the scene to dispose of the alleged illegal chemicals and contaminated materials.
Gault said Johns and Terry are being held at the Bradley County Jail under a $35,000 bond.
