The television show American Pickers is a huge hit, especially for those who love watching stars Wolfe and Frank Fritz travel the country looking in out-of-the-way places for treasures.
Now is your chance to meet Mike Wolfe in person at his talk at the Museum Center when he will divulge what life on the road is really like, give some picking secrets about finding hidden treasures, and answer questions about the show and his life during a Q&A session.
Please note that Wolfe will not do appraisals at this event and people are asked to not bring items to the museum. After his talk, participants will be able to get their books autographed by Mike and his co-author, Cleveland’s own Libby Callaway.
“American Pickers Guide to Picking,” which came out this September, is a great how-to book about picking, as well as an inside look into Mike and Frank’s adventures on the road. Some of the questions the book explores include how the two got into this unconventional profession, how to find good places to pick, value the items, gain a good eye, and market your items.
It’s a great book for those who want to start picking treasures and turning them into cash. It would also make an excellent Christmas present to purchase early for the season.
The Museum Center at Five Points preserves and interprets the history and culture of the Ocoee District of Southeast Tennessee. The museum hosts exhibits and education programs.
