Anne Madden, 75, a longtime resident of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Memorial Hospital.
She was born on July 25, 1938, in Scottsville, Ill., a daughter of the late Ralph and Cleo Downs.
She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Clingan Ridge Baptist Church.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed life to the fullest.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Madden; four brothers: Ralph Downs II, Gene Downs, Bob Downs and Earl Downs; and one sister, Gloria Daech.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory four daughters: Tarri Street, Debbie Burnette, Barbara Helms and Patti Campbell; one son, Jerry Brockmiller; three sisters: Shirley Kerbovac, Sandy Hackman and Mary Jaggers; four brothers: Gary Downs, Bill Downs, Larry “Butch” Downs and Danny Downs; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; the father of her children, Robert Brockmiller; numerous other extended family members; and church family and a host of special friends.
A celebration of her life is planned for Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the Clingan Ridge Baptist Church, 2412 Georgetown Road NW, with the Rev. Collin Cook officiating.
Interment will follow in the Standfield Baptist Church Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. The service will conclude with a white dove release.
The family will receive friends at the church tonight, July 1, 2014, from 5 until 8.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made in Anne’s memory to the Clingan Ridge Baptist Church building fund.
