Annie Rymer Smith, 97, passed away Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010.

She was born in Polk County, and lived most of her life in Bradley County. She was a loving wife and mother of four.

She was a faithful member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church for over 90 years, where she served as a former Sunday school teacher.

She was well known for her cooking, especially her chocolate pies.

She was the widow of prominent Bradley County farmer, Otto Smith. She was also preceded in death by her son, Charles E. Smith; her parents: M.C. and Mary Blackwell Rymer; son-in-law, Bobby Larkin; sister, Nina Massey; and brothers: Arther Rymer, Willie Rymer, Paul Rymer, Broughton Rymer and Morris Rymer.

She is survived by her daughter, Roberta Larkin of Tunnel Hill, Ga.; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Smith of Cleveland; sons: Harold T. Smith and wife, Brenda, of Cleveland, and Terry G. Smith and wife, Cathy, of Chattanooga; sister, Katie Suits of Cleveland; brother, Roy Rymer of Naples, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held Monday, Nov. 22, 2010, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home officiated by the Rev. Steve Huff and the Rev. Darrell Henry.

Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery. The grandchildren and great-grandchildren will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home today.
