Arlene Catherine Miller McGriff, 94, a resident of Cleveland, entered into life Dec. 6, 1917, and entered into rest Thursday morning April 26, 2012, in a local health care facility.

She was a member of The Church of God, 197 Tillie Road, Cleveland.

Arlene and her husband, Wayne, moved to Cleveland to retire and at that time became house parents for 15 children in the Tomlinson Home for Children. She enjoyed reading, oil painting, crafts and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne E. McGriff; her father, Evert Miller; her mother, Mamie Grace Hill Miller; brother, Evert Miller; sisters: Ruth Miller Huckaby and Evelyn Miller Briscoe; and son-in-law, Leonard Roll.

She is survived by one daughter, Gloria Veota Roll of Cleveland; three sons: Wayne Evert McGriff and his wife, Zola, of Texas, Clinton Edwin McGriff and his wife, Maurine, of Texas, and Melvin Clifford McGriff and his wife, Joyce, of Cleveland; brother, J.B. Miller of Texas; sister, Agnes Miller Gunn of Arizona; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

A Remembrance of Life service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, April 30, 2012, at Jim Rush Funeral Homes, North Ocoee Chapel, with the Revs. Harvey Anders and David Risch officiating.

Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
