“Battle of the Bulge: Family Affair” will be held Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room at the Cleveland Bradley County Public library. Andrea Lockerby, Consolidated School health supervisor at Bradley County Schools, will take a look at healthy eating habits for the whole family.

The Athens Area Council for the Arts will present “Reflections,” paintings by Mitchel de la Garza, to be on exhibit Jan. 15 through Feb. 25 at The Arts Center, 320 N. White St., Athens. Also on Jan. 18 at 7:30 p.m., the Black Box Concert Series kicks off its season with “The Georgia Songbird,” EG Kight, in concert. A behind-the-scenes tour of the library will be held Jan. 17 at 4:30 p.m., beginning in the Lobby. This 45-minute tour will take you to areas in the library not usually opened to the public and explain the workings of your public library. No advanced reservation needed.

Looking for a job? The Career Coach will be in the library parking lot on Jan. 18 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. This 45-foot bus contains staff and computers to assist with resumes and job listings. Call 472-2163 to reserve a time with a job coach.

The Friends of the Library Association will kick off the Book and Coffee series with William Wright, Banner Lifestyles Editor, on Jan. 18 at 10 a.m. at the Craigmiles-Johnston House History Branch Library. Wright, an award winning poet, journalist and speaker, will review and discuss his book, “The Little White Book of Light.” All are invited to this free library event. FOLA will provide the coffee.

Glitz, Glam Give Prom Fashion Show begins at 6 p.m. on Jan. 19 at The Museum Center at Five Points. Admittance to attend will be a pack of baby diapers, baby wipes, new heater or a $5 donation to support The Salvation Army. The after-party will be across the street at Ever After Bridal & Formal Wear. Admittance to the after-party is the ticket from the 6 p.m. event. Classic movie night theme for 2013 at the library will be “Famous Sleuths,” beginning with “One for the Money” on Jan. 29.

The first documentary to be shown in the new series at the library will be “Reverend Billy and the Church of Stop Shopping,” which will be shown on Jan. 31 in the Community Room at 7 p.m.
