“Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss” is this week at the library beginning Monday. Dr. Seuss Make & Take will be a drop-in craft event all day on Monday. Story Time will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. with lively stories for children ages 3 to 5 and Game Time will be held Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. in the Community Room. At the movies with Dr. Seuss featuring the “Butter Battle Book,” “Ponteffel Pock & His Magic Piano” and “The Lorax” will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Friday at 10:30 a.m. will be “Green Eggs & Ham” story time.

Newcomers of Cleveland will hold its next general meeting on Monday at 9:45 a.m. at Broad Street Methodist Church. The agenda will include elections for the 2014-15 Newcomers Board. After elections, a potluck luncheon (please bring a dish to share) will be served and an assortment of board games will be played. “2nd Sundays @ 2p.m.” will be an introduction to genealogy resources at the library. “Discovering Your Roots” will introduce you to the world of your ancestors and how the library can aid you in your search. Learn new quilting techniques and make new friends in a FREE “Undercover” Quilting Class.The six-week class begins Tuesday and will meet each Tuesday at 6 p.m. at The Salvation Army, 437 Inman St. For more information, call 423-308-3467.

The Tween Movie this month at the library is the “Tale of Desperaux,” (Rated G) at 11 a.m. in the Community Room March 8. This movie is based on Kate DiCamillo’s popular Newberry winning fantasy about a mouse that tackles themes like longing, grief, loyalty and hurt. This movie is appropriate for Tweens age 6-12.

Fun and fitness exercise classes for all ages are held at First United Methodist Church, 3425 N. Ocoee St., Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from noon to 1 p.m. The classes, which are taught by Ann Smeltzer RN, will continue for five weeks. Cost is $1 per day. TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) local chapter meets every Monday at Wesleyan Methodist Church on Peerless Road. Private weigh-ins are from 5 to 5:30 p.m. and the meeting is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. A TOPS category for children ages 7-18 is available. For more information, call 472-9628 or 593-4727.
