— Dollywood’s Penguin Players will be at the library May 16, 10:30 a.m., in the Community Room, to celebrate Children’s Book Week 2014. “One Cool Friend” is a lively 20-minute production filled with sing-along songs, including music written especially for the Penguin Players by Dolly Parton.
— The Friends of the Library Association will host its Book and Coffee Series on May 16, with a review of Philip I. Nelson’s book, “LBJ: The Mastermind of the JFK Assassination.” FOLA member Ann Cherry will review the book at 10 a.m. at the Craigmiles-Johnston House History Branch Library. All are invited.
— Celebrate Maifest on May 17 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., when the library, Montessori Kinder and the Nancy Liebermann Foundation collaborate to bring the traditional German celebration of the arrival of spring to Cleveland. Celebrate the day to benefit educational goals in the community.
AT Salvation Army:
— Character Building Class providing an after-school program for school-age children meets each Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at The Salvation Army, 437 Inman St. Children also receive a nutritious snack.

— Join the Faith & Fitness Zumba class which meets each week at The Salvation Army on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m., Thursday at 6 a.m. and Thursday at noon. The licensed instructor is Regina Williams. — Zumba will begin at the library each Tuesday and Thursday morning at 8:10 a.m., continuing until May 29. This class will be limited to 25, and reservations are required.
