Lifetime Fitness classes began Monday at First United Methodist Church, 3425 N. Ocoee St. Classes will be held each Monday, Wednesday and Friday from noon to 1 p.m. for five weeks. Bradley Central High School, class of 1972, is finalizing plans for its 40th-year reunion. It will be held on Sept. 22 from 6 to 11 p.m. at the Fillauer Barn. License plate show is set for Sept. 22. The 23rd annual East Tennessee Auto Pl8s meet will be held at the Tri-State Exhibition Center in the Exhibit Hall, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. This is a new, larger venue for the meet. THE 2012 CAPTIVATING FASHION SHOW, a red carpet event, will be Sept. 29 at 11 a.m. at Lee University’s Dixon’s Center. All of the name-brand outfits and voguish shoes are from secondhand stores. The models are local people from the community. Tickets can be purchased at www.riverworshipcenter.com or by calling 309-8346. General admission is $15 and VIP admission is $35. All of the proceeds will go to Mercy’s Door Children’s Home. After the show, the clothing items will be sold — just like a real New York Fashion Show!

Bestselling author Mark Gimenez will be this year’s Friends of the Library Fall Luncheon and Evening Event speaker on Oct. 16 and 18. FOLA has planned several events for the community to meet and to hear Gimenez talk about his books, writing and publishing. Reservations to all the events will be accepted beginning Sept. 10, at the library.
