Avalon, formed in 1996, sets a higher standard in contemporary Christian music. To date, the group has sold more than 3.5 million albums, charted 22 No. 1 singles, and won an American Contemporary Song of the Year award for “Testify to Love.” That song, a listener favorite, has also been specially re-recorded for their “Another Time, Another Place” CD.
Reborn is the group’s landmark 14th recording. When the single “Arise” from Reborn was released to Christian radio, it officially became Avalon’s 22nd career No. 1 radio hit, topping Billboard’s Soft AC/Inspirational chart. AVALON is comprised of duo Greg and Janna Long, paired with husband-and-wife team Jeremi and Amy Richardson of Cleveland, each blending their voices in soaring arrangements.
Joining Avalon for the Allied Arts Council’s winter event will be musical guests Voices of Lee.
Tickets for the concert are $10 each, with children 10 and under free, and are available at the Chamber of Commerce, The Red Ribbon and Fenimore’s Floral Design Studio. Proceeds benefit arts in education for all local area schools.
Allied Arts programs, including Chair-ries Jubilee, have contributed more than $250,000 in grants and artists’ appearances to Bradley County and Cleveland City Schools.
