Azalee Dupree Nope, 91, a resident of Cleveland, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday night, Jan. 2, 2013, from a local health care facility.

She was born March 27, 1921, in Morgan City, La., a daughter of the late Elec and Katherine Dupree.

She married John R. Nope Sr. on March 17, 1941. She was a member if the Morgan City Church of God of Prophecy. She loved her family, children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful caregiver to her mother, sister and brother. She was also known for her awesome cooking and cake baking. She was loved dearly and will be missed by all.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her three children: Carol Witcher and her husband, Ronald, John R. Nope Jr. and his wife, Lillian, and the Rev. Kenneth Nope and wife, Jo Ann; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Bethel Ray and Iona Schmerber; and numerous other extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends this evening, Jan. 4, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the parlor of Companion Funeral & Cremation Service, 2415 Georgetown Road, Cleveland.

A second visitation as well as the funeral service and burial, are planned from Monday night, Jan. 7, and Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, in Morgan City, La. The Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City is in charge of those arrangements.
