Maggie Barys and Darrin Evans, both of Red Bank, will exchange wedding vows in a 6 p.m. ceremony on May 14 in Rossville, Ga.

The engagement is announced by the parents of the bride-elect, Paul and Sarah Barys of Red Bank. The future bridegroom is the son of Cheryl Evans of Chattanooga and Dennis Evans of Cleveland.

Miss Barys is the granddaughter of Ed and Betty Barys of Wilmette, Ill., and Don and Virginia Bainbridge of Washington, N.C. She is the sister of Jamie Barys of Shanghai, China.

She is a 2000 graduate of Red Bank High School and attends the University of Tennessee, pursuing her master’s degree in social work. She is employed by the state of Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

Mr. Evans is the grandson of Shirley Wilson and Harlan Ratcliff, both of Chattanooga, and Barbara and “Cotton” Evans of Cleveland. He is the brother of Brooke Cordero of Tampa, Fla.

He is a 2000 graduate of Cleveland High School and is employed by Coker Tire.

Both are members of Abba’s House in Hixson.
