The William Hall Rodgers Christmas Basket Fund now stands at $14,684, with donations of $1,055 given since Wednesday. The goal was $24,000.

Some 980 boxes of food staples were given out Saturday morning at the Tri-State Warehouse to needy families in the community. Donations are still being accepted to help pay for the items put in the boxes.

Donations received included Cleveland Reporting Co, $50; J&KE Ritenour, $100; Karen and Glen Leach, $25; Elbert and Alma Schrader, $30; E. Conrad and Nancy Duke, $60; Dearmond and Jones DDS and staff, $440; in honor of son and grandchildren, $250; and in memory of Ed Shell, $100.

Individuals and organizations wishing to donate may do so at First Tennessee Bank, P.O. Box 4880, Cleveland, TN 37320-4880 or by dropping donations off at First Tennessee Bank at 3870 Keith St.
