Facing the Silverdale Baptist Academy coed team, the Bears leveled their season mark at 5-5 with an 18-9 District 5 victory at the Leisure Time Bowling Center.
Bradley will return to its home lanes at 3:30 this afternoon as Chattanooga Central comes calling for another district battle.
The Bears opened Wednesday’s match with Silverdale by winning five of the first Game 1 matches, plus claiming the pin fall bonus points as well by a 931-689 margin.
Bradley followed up with a 936-602 difference in Game 2, winning four of the heads-up battles.
With his team in command of the match, first-year Bradley coach Don Burke set three of his starters in the final game, which the visitors claimed by a 677-632 margin and four heads-up wins.
“We were so far ahead I wanted to give some other guys a chance for some match experience,” coach Burke related.
Ryan Chapman paced the Bear victory with a personal best score of 213 for the day’s high game, plus added a 174 in his two heads-up victories. Tanner Ratcliff also posted a personal high game with a 203 as he too had a pair of wins.
Alec Norwood kept with his team-high season average of 182, rolling a 183 and a 181 in a couple of heads-up victories.
Brandon Cross led the Silverdale effort with a 477 series and three of the Seahawks’ seven individual wins.
Bradley claimed the final pin fall tally by a 2,499-1,968 margin.
“We had a good showing and we’ll have a big test today with Chattanooga Central,” coach Burke commented. “Next week is going to be tough as well. We play Walker Valley here on Tuesday and Signal Mountain Wednesday, then go to Chattanooga Central Thursday.”
