The event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 20, on the Cleveland/Bradley County Greenway at Raider Drive (also known as the PCL Park).
There are a lot of fun things scheduled throughout the day such as face painting, door prizes, crafts and a silent auction. And, of course, there will be food vendors with all types of festival foods!
WCLE will be broadcasting live throughout the event. For just $1 you can vote for your favorite bed to be the “Peoples’ Choice.” Local businesses and vendors will be selling and showcasing their products and services.
Registration begins at 11 a.m. The Parade of Beds will begin at noon, along with the judging for the “Judges’ Choice.” The main event, the Bed Race, will begin at 1 p.m. Immediately following the conclusion of the races, the awards will be given.
Last year’s winner, Don Ledford, will be competing again this year. Strong competition is needed to oust the defending champion. Which team will take first place this year?
The Bed Race Festival is free and open to all, and everyone will have chances to win door prizes throughout the day. This event is an inexpensive way to spend time with the family.
Applications for vendors and Bed Race teams are currently being accepted. Vendor spots are available for only $20. This is a great opportunity to sell products and advertise business. The fee for entering a bed in the competition is $50 for sports teams, church youth groups, family and schools. Fees are $100 for corporate and churches.
Sponsorship levels are available. They range from $250 to $1,500. All packages will include logos on event T-shirts and more.
All funds raised will be used to assist homeless families in Bradley County.
