She was a member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church in Decatur. Her hobby was crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Carson; parents, Monroe and Addie Glossup Smith; and son, Ernie Carson.
Survivors include her children: John Wayne Carson Jr. of Georgetown; and Tricia Carson of Johns Creek, Ga.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Lewis officiating.
Interment will follow in Johnston Cemetery in Georgetown.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
