Judging for the top design began at 5 p.m. while Pastor David Delmotte shared a challenge with the crowd.
Logan Brewster did not design a car, but he selected a matchbox car and raced it down the track. He happily came away with a brand new matchbox car to keep for his very own.
Kim Tuttle, the emcee for the night, announced the first heat of participants and the racers were off. Every car raced against two or three other cars.
The winner of each race was moved to the first-place run-off race. Each of the second-, third- and fourth-place winners were moved to their respective run-off races.
First place for speed went to Corbin Kelly; second place went to Braylee Hart and third place went to Katelin Brown. There was a tie for fourth place between Gracie Davis and Sydney Delmotte.
For top design first place went to Aubrey Neely; second place went to Jeremiah Gross; third place was a tie between Carlie Hindmon and Maletha Sanders; and fourth place went to Mitchell Delmotte.
There was also an adult race. First place for speed went to Garrett Webb; second place went to Alice Moon while third place went to Dawn Waldvogel.
Top design in the adult group went to Jim Hart with Sandy Wilsey in second place and Sheila Sanders in third place.
