Betty Ruth Trent became the bride of Charles David Blackwell, both of Cleveland, in an evening ceremony on Feb. 16, 2012, at the Living Word Church, where they are both members.

The bride is the daughter of Mae V. Davis of Cleveland and the late Willard A. Davis. She is the mother of Stacey Ledford, Delores Corbitt and Cynthia Ledford (daughter of heart), all of Cleveland. She is the grandmother of Chris Ledford, Kelli Ledford, Michael Belcher, Brittany Belcher, Jennifer Corbitt, Tanner Riley and Brooke Riley and the great-grandmother of Leland Belcher, Madyson Ledford, Aislynn Riley and Adalynn Riley, all of Cleveland.

The bridegroom is the son of the late Robert Louis Blackwell and Geraldine Blackwell. He is the grandson of James “Bud” Bledsoe of Butcher Holler, Ky., and the late Sarah Jane Bledsoe. He is the father of Jeremy Blackwell, Daniel Blackwell, David Wayne Blackwell and Derike Clift, all of Cleveland. He is the grandfather of Dylan Blackwell, Drew Blackwell, Cassidy Blackwell, Isaac Blackwell and Haleena Blackwell, all of Cleveland.

Dr. Larry Cockerham, pastor of Living Word Church, officiated the wedding, which was attended by approximately 200.

The bride was attended by her daughters, Delores and Cynthia. The bridegroom was attended by the bride’s daughter Stacey and his son Jeremy. Ushers were Dylan Blackwell, Chris Ledford, Tanner Riley and Tyler Adams.

The reception was given by Tina Baker and Jeanie Ledford at the church. Assisting and serving were the couple’s granddaughters, Brittany Belcher, Kelli Ledford, Brooke Riley, Cassidy Blackwell and Jennifer Corbitt. The wedding cake was made by Teresa Gartin and the groom’s cake by the bride’s mother. Ruth Ingraham served as photographer. Christy Watson and Nicole Harvey kept the bride’s book.

After a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, the couple is at home in Cleveland.
