Dr. Bobbie Clayton Berry will be returning home to Cleveland. She will be disentombed in Haughton, La., and entombed at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

She passed away on June 25, 2005, in New Orleans and was entombed on June 29, 2005, at Hill Crest Memorial Park in Haughton.

She was the oldest child of Clyde and Ruth Clayton and the sister of Mary Jo Wright and Ova Lee Yates, all of whom are now passed.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Frederick Harold Berry; son, Dr. Frederick Clayton Berry; three brothers: Thomas Clayton, Jackie Clayton and David Clayton; daughter-in-law, Carol Stuart Berry; and three wonderful grandchildren: Stuart Berry, Kathleen Berry and Allison Berry.

She graduated from Bradley Central High School with the class of 1952. She then continued on with her studies to earn bachelor’s, master’s, specialist and doctorate of education degrees. She enjoyed a long and successful career in education. It was apparent to her friends and associates she was very proud of her family and their accomplishments and many of them said her relationship with her husband was like an old-time love affair.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Art Bass, deacon at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, officiating.

Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
