She was member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church. She was also a member of Eastern Star and a great cook. She was ready to help anyone in need and loved the Lord and enjoyed traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Dovie Hill Wicks; husband, Charles Edward Smith; and brother, Roy Wicks Jr., who was killed in action in World War II.
Survivors include her sons: Charles “Dave” Smith and Chris Smith, both of Cleveland; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, at Mount Carmel Baptist Church with the Rev. Reed Wright officiating.
Interment will follow in Mount Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery, concluding with a white dove release ceremony.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Fike Funeral Home.
