She welcomed the following guests: Pat Clifton, Doris Bradford, Jennifer Lee, Nancy Smith and Charlotte George.
The following new members were recognized: David Robinson, Jane Littlejohn, Al Miller, Barbara Harrison, Jack Kidwell, Dennis Shroyer, Connie Yates and Pamela S. Miller.
Elaine Kirkpatrick opened the program with the devotion.
After the luncheon, Mary Charles Blair, vice president, introduced the Bradley Ambassadors from Bradley High School.
This newly formed choral group is directed by Katie Phillips.
The Bradley Ambassadors entertained RTA members and guests with holiday music and carols.
During the business portion of the meeting, minutes were read by Carolyn Goins, secretary, and approved. Copies of the treasurer’s report, prepared by Joy Yates, were presented and approved.
Members brought gifts for retired teachers no longer able to attend meetings.
Wilma Cross and Mary Charles Blair prepared 29 gift bags to be delivered following the meeting.
The next scheduled meeting will be Feb. 13, 2014, at 11:30 a.m. at Westwood Baptist Church.
The program will be presented by Melissa Woody from the Chamber of Commerce.
The local association meets bimonthly and membership is open to any retired teacher.
