“We’ve got to work on our passing game if we’re going to throw the ball around this year,” Floyd said after the 20 minute scrimmage. “They lined up man-to-man with us so we’ve got to beat some people there. It’s early in the season and we hope to get better week by week.”
The Bears were 0 for 6 through the air in their two appearances on offense against the Rams.
“I don’t know how much you learn. In a 20 minute running quarter you don’t game prep for it, said Floyd. “It’s good for the kids to come out and play in this stadium, this atmosphere and get a little dress rehearsal. But that’s about it.
“We wanted to make sure we stayed healthy. We’re pretty healthy right now. Fall camp is over, we are pretty healthy and we’re happy about that.”
Bradley heads back to the practice field today to continue preparation for Friday’s Week 0 opener against the Polk County Wildcats in Benton. Floyd said the jamboree loss, though disappointing, is not the beginning of the season, it is merely the end of the preseason.
“We came to win. Any time we step between these white lines, we want to win. We didn’t get that done but we’re not going to hang our hat on this,” he declared. “The real stuff starts next week. We’ve got a week to get better and we’ve got to get a lot better for a good football team.”
