Bradley County Schools attorney Chris McCarty said the hearing was postponed after Elliott's attorney requested the date be changed because he was ill last week.
A new date for the hearing has not been set.
The hearing was to determine if allegations against the teacher, which would be grounds for termination, are true.
In October, the Bradley County Schools determined if allegations of incompetence were true, then the allegations were grounds for termination.
Recommendation for dismissal came from Bradley County Schools Director Johnny McDaniel, based on co-teachers’ alleged comments. Elliott had 30 days to ask for a hearing with an impartial hearing officer.
