Lee coach Mark Brew has added a combination second baseman/shortstop to his list of new recruits. Ross Pepper, a senior at Middle Tennessee Christian (Murfreesboro), recently returned the scholarship papers.

Pepper hit .369 as a junior for coach Alex Roberts. The Gold Glove winner is a two-time All-District 9-A performer and a member of the 2009 TBCA Showcase team.

“Ross provides us with a solid left-handed hitting option in the middle infield,” said Brew. “He is a great student from a great family. We are excited he has chosen Lee for his academic and athletic career.”

Pepper said he selected Lee because “it offers everything I was looking for in a college. I felt like Cleveland was the perfect town for me to spend the next four years.”

The new signee also considered attending Harding University and Middle Tennessee State before deciding on Lee. “I want to do whatever I can to help my team win and always leave everything I have on the playing field,” said Pepper, who plans to be a business administration major.
