Briant K. Berry announces his candidacy for the 5th District of the Bradley County Commission, subject to the Republican Primary.

“I am running for commissioner because I want to serve the people of the 5th District. I’m not a politician. I’m an average, blue- collar worker with a strong desire to give an honest voice to the 5th District. I am a person of action. I believe actions speak louder than words. If elected, I promise to work hard and serve, then my vote will be a direct reflection of my honest support. If elected I promise to work hard to serve, listen, and be fully accessible to the people.

Berry is no stranger to the community or to the community of the emergency workers. As a former member of the Bradley County Volunteer Fire Department and the Fire Board, he understands obstacles that our selfless hometown heroes face daily.

He has experienced the adversities first-hand, and promises his vote will represent his unweaving support for all.

Berry is a graduate of Bradley Central High School. He attended Cleveland State Community College where he received a certificate in criminal justice.

Berry has been employed with the Bradley County Juvenile Detention Center since August 2005 and holds the rank of second shift corporal.

“We have a beautiful community that I have been fortunate enough to be a part of; however, areas in the 5th District need to be cleaned up in order to provide a safer environment for our families,” Berry said.

“If elected, I will work hard with the proper agencies to ensure that our district is one we can take pride in and feel safe to come home to. Therefore, I have made a conscious decision not to take away from the beauty of our community by placing signs in yards. I want the 5th District to get to know me, not a sign.”
