The weekend of Feb. 18 through 20 youth from all over the Holston Conference of the United Methodist Church attended Resurrection Christian Youth Conference in Gatlinburg.

This is an annual event where more than 12,000 youth come together to celebrate the God of Resurrection with meetings being held in the Gatlinburg Convention Center.

Seventeen youth plus adults and Student Ministries Director Adam Reuss from Broad Street United Methodist Church attended this year’s event.

Through the message of a nationally known gifted speaker, Lisa Yebuah, young people were able to focus on the worship of God through Jesus Christ.

Yebuah is currently serving as pastor of Inviting Ministries at Edenton Street UMC in Raleigh, N.C. A native of Nashville, she grew up in the low country of South Carolina. Through her messages, many students were encouraged to give their lives to Jesus and pray that He would use them for His glory.

Music was led by nationally known contemporary band City Harmonic.

Worship sessions were held each day where songs were sung, a message was delivered, and students from all over the conference lead the services with songs, dance and videos.

Resurrection strives to be the premier Christian Youth Conference that brings youth groups together for awesome fellowship and authentic worship, where the Gospel is proclaimed, and youth have a spiritual renewal and a closer walk with Christ.

Youth groups from Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and First United Methodist Church here in Cleveland also attended.
