Bruce Earl Ritchey Jr., 77, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, in a Chattanooga hospital.
He was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed any outdoor adventure.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War. He was employed with the city of Cleveland and Bradley County law enforcement and later worked for Gulf Oil Company before retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce E. Ritchey Sr., and Nellie Ritchey; and sister, Lila Elliott Umberger.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Ritchey, of Cleveland; daughters: Melissa Lewis and husband, Bob, of Chattanooga and Ginger Starnes and Mike Terreall, both of Nashville; grandchildren: Sara Friedt and husband, Matt, Kenneth Starnes II and Casey Tinker; brothers-in-law: Steve Harvey and Neil Sartin; great-grandchildren: Katelyn Friedt and David Friedt; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors, and officiated by the Rev. Ray Cheathem.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Fike Funeral Home.
