Former Walker Valley and Cleveland State standout Leslie (Still) Nunnelly has signed papers with Bryan College to continue her career at the NAIA level.

The former Lady Cougar is a solid defender in the outfield and a threat on the bases.

“I am ecstatic for Leslie and this opportunity for her,” states CSCC coach Katie Willingham. “She’s a hard worker. She will push herself to be better every day.

“She is driven leader on and off the field. Having athletes like Leslie makes any coach’s job easier.”

“She is never an easy out with her speed and her power continued to grow through the season,” the Lady Cougar mentor stated. “We will miss her presence on and off the field. Look for her to continue in her growth in the sport.”

Looking to major in Exercise and Health Science with Teaching Licensure, Nunnelly says she chose Bryan because she wanted to continue playing softball close to home.

She liked the fact that it was a Christian college with small atmosphere where the professors get to know the students individually.

“I am looking forward to getting to play two more years and getting to know another group of girls,” she stated.

“Leslie shows a great presence in the outfield, she will be versatile playing either corner spot and being a second center fielder,” boasts Bryan coach Rocky Stinson.

“At the plate, she gives us the option for the top or bottom of the lineup. She has a solid stick and heads up on the base paths are a plus. I look to Leslie as a staple in the 2015 lineup for Bryan,” he added.
