Buck Rogers, McCallie School’s Director of College Guidance, was presented the Larry West Award at the Annual Conference of the Southern Association of College Admission Counseling in Arlington, Va.

The Larry West Award is the highest award given by the SACAC. It is based on longevity of service and dedication to the organization, outstanding contributions to the admissions counseling profession, leadership within that profession and dedication to the students it serves.

Rogers has served in his current capacity at McCallie since 2007. He has worked in the college guidance profession at high schools in both Lexington and Louisville, Ky., and also worked as a college admission officer at Centre and Hanover Colleges.

“Buck has devoted his professional life to working with young people in the transition from adolescence to adulthood,” Bill Dingledine, Past President of SACAC, said. “He has served students, parents and our profession with a wealth of knowledge, wisdom and understanding.”

SACAC promotes high professional standards in the college admission process for more than 1,650 colleges, universities and secondary schools in the nine-state Southern region.
