Jack McCarter said he arrived home and found glass broken from his door.
Burglars apparently entered the home and rummaged through it, taking a jewelry box containing watches, bracelets and other items. A Mag Light flashlight and a book were also stolen, according to a report filed by deputy Paul Allen of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office.
The missing items were valued at $610.
Investigation is continuing, according to Allen’s report.
n A 6th Street resident also reported the theft of tools from her home.
Sybil Hoover said someone gained entry to her home and took a table and a chop saw.
Officials believed the thief gained entry through a door at the rear of the home.
A serial number was not available for the missing saw.
The saw was valued at $100.
n Miscellaneous hand tools and other items were taken from a Trailview Drive residence.
According to a report filed with the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, Ronda Dillard said someone broke into an outbuilding on her property and took an air compressor, radial arm saw and tools.
The theft was reported Wednesday, but could have occurred in late November, according to the report.
Investigators could not determine forced entry to the garage which is detached from the Dillard residence.
According to the report, the items were valued at $200.
