The Cleveland Christian School Lady Crusaders traveled to Bryant, Ala., Friday evening to face the Mountain View Lions in volleyball action. It was a nice reprieve from the intense action earlier in the week where the ladies split matches with Maryville Christian and Dogwood Christian. The Crusaders made quick work of the Lady Lions 25-1, 25-14, 25-7.

Jennifer Corbitt provided the highlights on the evening as she served for 24 straight points with eight aces in the first game of the match in the 25-1 win. She served for a total of 37 points on the evening. Hope Nix had six assists, Acacia Thompson finished with three kills and two aces, and Emily Sexton contributed three kills.

“Most of our points came from serves tonight. There wasn’t much opportunity for quality offense or defense,” said Coach Mathis after the match. “This has been a great first week of play and we look forward to the tri-match Tuesday at home versus Apostolic Knoxville and Knoxville Christian.”

Cleveland Christian is now 2-1 (2-1 SCAA).
