Cleveland Christian School hosted the Lady Wildcats of Polk County Thursday night in volleyball action. The Lady Crusaders (8-9, 3-6 in SCAA) had their work cut out from the beginning of the match against a tough one loss Polk County team losing in straight sets 25-11, 25-16 and 25-8.
“These ladies are by far the most complete opponent we have faced all season. Their consistent, hard serving and quality setting makes for a tough team to beat,” CCS coach John Mathis remarked after the loss. “Coach Rodgers has this team ready for post season play and we wish them the best.”
On a high note, Kelsey Farris had a personal best four blocks, eight kills, an ace, and a dig. “With numbers like that I would have liked to have delivered the win for her but it wasn’t the night,” Mathis added. “I’m sure there weren’t many players in the area who had a better night that Kelsey did tonight.”
Acacia Thompson added two kills and an ace while setter Shayna Cole also had a personal best 10 assists.
Cleveland Christian will host Collegedale Academy and Georgia Cumberland Academy in the final home games of the season Tuesday night.
