The Church of Jesus Christ International will hold its 86th annual general convention May 29 through June 2. The international offices are located at 800 Benton Pike N.E. in Cleveland. The convention hosts will be Bishop and Mrs. Boyd Lawson. Bishop Thomas R. Stinnett is the assistant presiding bishop and S.L. Bennett is general secretary.

The theme for the convention is “Keep Through Thy Name, That They May Be One.” Assistant Pastor Russell Robinson explained, “We know that unity of mind and purpose was and still is our Lord’s great desire for His church. He prayed for this, that we would be kept through His name that we might be one.”

According to Robinson, there will be speakers from Africa as well from different parts of the world. The opening session will be praise and preaching with refreshments and fellowship to follow.

Thursday and Friday’s sessions begin with a prayer garden activity followed by praise, testimony and Bible teaching. A general session will be held at 7 that evening.

A woman’s session and a youth session will be held simultaneously on June 1 at 10 a.m., as well as a minister’s conference. A general session will be at 7 p.m.

The Foreign Missions session will be from 10 a.m. until noon on June 2. Each evening general session begins at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary with refreshments and fellowship at 10 p.m. in the fellowship hall.

Everyone is invited to attend every day, Robinson says, “but if you can help with pacing, teaching, singing, music, kitchen work, youth services, nursery work, financial help or fresh ideas, we want to hear from you.” Call Robinson at 618-9852 or the church at 472-0303.
