The Cleveland Middle School Lady Raiders cross country team traveled to the Chattanooga Cross Country Festival to compete in a state qualifier.

Attending the meet as the top runners for CMS were Kathaleen Alomar, Emilee Spann, BreAsia Ware, Sophia Stomatiatus, Gabby Saliba, Taelor Hill, Hannah Claudio, Kaley Walker and Kellee Geren.

Alomar finished 13th overall with a time of 14:23. The Lady Raiders finished fifth out of 13 teams in the meet.

All of the Lady Raiders that qualified to run at the festival are CMS basketball players and participate in both cross country and girl's basketball with Coach Kelli Fulton.

Coach Fulton stated, “The work ethic of this team and the “want” to win is admirable. I have young ladies with a desire to go above and beyond what is required with competitor's attitudes. It is a privilege to coach these young Lady Raiders.”

The Lady Raiders will compete for conference championships and grade level races at Baylor.

The CMS boys team had three sixth-grade boys place in the top 15 in the region: Toren Beck, Tommy Marino, and William Estes.

The Raiders also had three runners finish in the top 15: Jacob Herd, Bill Silva, and Chris Pistrang.
