Jana Pankey, associate professor and program coordinator of Human Services and Social Work, was recently selected as the 2013 Service-Learning Champion at CSCC. Pankey is a longtime proponent of service-learning and immediately began incorporating this teaching strategy upon joining the college eight years ago. She has since played a key role in the formation of the service-learning initiative at the college. Dr. Carl Hite, CSCC president, was recently awarded the Service-Learning Visionary Award for his vision and belief in the difference that service-learning could make at CSCC and the community. From left are Dr. Denise King, vice president for Academic Affairs; Pankey, Hite, and Susan Webb-Curtis, director of Service-Learning and Cooperative Education.
